What are some of the good, the bad, and the ugly areas? I did some search and found out there are a lot of tourists related scams usually involving gambling etc. Any tips welcomed. Thanks.

The one thing to remember is that the traffic in Manila is notoriously bad. It takes a lot of time to get from anywhere to anywhere. Especially when you plan to take your flight back, make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get to the airport. It took us about 2.5 hours to cover 7 miles or so.

Roman, watch Manila kay Sholay..starring Barbra Shareef, Rangeela and some other dorks…If you change your mind after watching the movie and decide to go to Switzerland instead then watch any bollywood movie. There! I saved you a travel.
