What are the places to visit in and around the GTA (toronto and area)
Except Niagara Falls, the Dumb Safari and the Dumberland ..
I am interested in knowing about the cottage country to the north.
Are there any convenient spots to go visit with family (have toddlers)
What I have in mind is a secluded spot, not far from civilization (within a radius of 4 - 5 hours max. from Toronto) . By the lakeside, cottage or hut, probably stay 2 nights. Some fishing…
Not sure if you've been to Tobermory yet. If you haven't, you might wanna check it out. It's situated between Lake Huron and Georgian Bay...about 3.5-4 hours from Toronto. There are plenty of cottages, motels, B&B, hotels, and campgrounds. Check out tobermory.org. I believe qrius once opened a thread (or maybe it was a journal entry) about her trip to Tobermory. See if you can find it.
There are loads of places to see. If you wanna be a little more adventurous (and have loads of time), go further north. The area around Lake Superior is absolutely gorgeous!
Haliburton in North...Gr8 place ....just besides the lake...cottages and huts are available ...but usually have to book way advance in summer...u name it all summer activities, including fishing, cycling... are there for kids and adults...gr8 place to go with family ...only 2-3 hrs drive.
