Re: Things to do at Grand Canyon
i went there around 4 yrs back so didn't remember exactly .......... but it's always good to take a guided tour , and apart from that u could go for hiking , see their tiny museums ( in the form of huts) where they've collections of artifacts / stuff of historic & cultural significance, vista points etc.................and do take yr camera with u .
we only spend a day over there as that was part of a long long road trip]
Re: Things to do at Grand Canyon
We recently went to Grand Canyon....Do NOT miss South Kaibab Trail even if you aren't into hiking and stuff....It's just too beautiful! We didn't get to go to Bright Angel Trail but heard it's nice so check it out as well. Another beautiful site is Yaki Point.....beautiful view of the Canyon from East entrance of the park. There are free shuttle buses available at South Rim entrance which take you to all the main view points of the park.
Re: Things to do at Grand Canyon
is there any mountain biking facilities their?
Re: Things to do at Grand Canyon
I am planing for this fall. Is October a good month to goto Canyons?
Re: Things to do at Grand Canyon
Orpheus, they don’t offer biking facilities in the park.
Smoothguy, check out the park’s trip planner regarding weather conditions. http://www.nps.gov/grca/upload/grca_trip-plan08.pdf
We went there in mid May…The weather changes from hot to cold in matter of minutes. Also, it’s so interesting that during daytime temperature would go up as high as 80-85F and at night time it would go down to 35-40s so it will help if you pack up both winter and summer clothes. ![]()

maybe I will run into you ![]()
Re: Things to do at Grand Canyon
The weather does change quickly so it is best to bring clothes for both hot and cold weather. The canyon is beautiful and there is so much to see and learn that it takes more than one day I think to be able to appreciate all the history that is there.
