Things in Entertainment that I've noticed...

Here are some happening in the entertainment industry, just for your information:

Truth Hurts, an artist under Dr. Dre’s label, made her first video who’s background beat is infact an Indian song… goes something like “mera resham jaisa dil thora sona lagta hai”… I like it. The video features desi looking dresses and dance moves.

On MTV’s Real World episode 13 [current season 11] Cara’s ex-boyfriend Ali comes to visit. To me he seems like a Pakistani… any thoughts? They don’t mention much information about him during the show, and most of his clips are shot from the profile angle. Nevertheless, there are kissing and @#$&* scenes.

Eminem’s new video “Without Me”, features a seen where he’s dressed up as bin Laden. The set resembles a cave or a rock mountain, and the scene is shot on a digicam for more effect. In the initial release of the video, the captions incorporated as a special effect during the bin Laden are written in Hindi Script, but now [after someone probably pointed out the mistake] all have been taken out, replaced by a single bubble effect in Arabic Script garble.

KoRn’s “Here To Stay” video features scenes of the Namaaz, inbetween which there are two clips: one showing maggots and the other of a women in lingerie. I would say it’s there artistic expression and I respect their freedom of speech.

**Mira Nair’s ‘Monsoon Wedding’ ** was widely released nationwide by USA Films. The film had already won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 2001. I loved it everytime Naseeruddin Shah cursed in Urdu. The movie has earned $10,480,000 so far locally.

I just noticed that VH1’s Top Thirty Video Countdown hosted by Aamer Haleem. Seems to be like a Pakistani… could be a Bengali or Indian too. Any clues? [VH1’s site just says that he is from Canada, nothing more.]

Boys 2 Men just released their new video, “Color of Love”, which has been shot in different parts of the world. Some portions are shot in Jaipur, Rajhastan. Mainly showing the poverty in which the local ppl live plus a famous temple that houses a lot of monkeys.

You can only paint with the colors you’re given…
…so get what you like and like what you have.

If u mean the original Hindi Script... then I thought that too, may be not to create any reaction from ppl like us, but then again Eminem is a man of controvesy, I don't think he would refrain from pissing off someone... and why would they take it out and put in Arabic letters???

Hmmm that's a good question, Pak99.
How about some people complaining about this incorrectness as you mentioned and since Eminem is becoming fan friendly, who knows he might have listened to their complains.

Btw I like the dancing OBL, what you think?

Yeh, me too! Infact, they had scenes of OBL cuddling with the bunny, the jewish guy and the nun... but none of them was included in the video!
