Is there any fabric for summers other than cotton, which can be used for dresses (shalwar kameez) but doesn’t require lining?

Re: Thick summers fabric
you can also use arabic lawn (jisay shopkeepers normally arbi lawn kehty hay) lite and soft, easy to carry.
Re: Thick summers fabric
Hi Cinderella Clothing, isn't it arabic linen? I haven't heard of the term arabic lawn from any shopkeepers.
Re: Thick summers fabric
No no it's not arabic linen, looks like linen but it is in thin stuff. i just came to know today that malai lawn and arabic lawn are two names of the same fabric, don't know if it is true or not. did you ever see EGO clothes? material they use is arabic lawn. i just bought two shirts of arabic lawn today, apparently quality looks good.
Re: Thick summers fabric

Re: Thick summers fabric
Thanks for everyones input. I wanted this information for my own dresses but so far whatever fabric i found in the market, will require lining or I might end up purchasing guys' shirt fabric for my dresses. My designs are a bit complicated for lining though so I might have to stitch them myself which is what i was trying to avoid.
Cotton silk is the term used (here at least) for dye-able lining fabric.
Re: Thick summers fabric
All the summer fabric will require lining..except khaadi n cotton silk fabrics donot need any lining but cotton silk has a silk sheen which I donot like, personallyI prefer khaadi, the soft one type also a plain white suit always require a lining. use pure malmal for camisole/lining :)
