They very first thing you ever cooked?

What was it?

How did it turn out? (aka was it edible)

Re: They very first thing you ever cooked?

the very first thing i ever made was butter chicken (out of majboori - my mom was not there!), and it turned out fabulous!!! Then the next day, I became more brave, and tried Chicken Biryani (using Shan Masala), and that was pretty good too, my rice was a little soft, but otherwise it was good! People ate it, they enjoyed it, and I got compliments!

The biggest compliment was that my baby nephews (not really babies, they were 2) ate all the butter chicken I gave them, and then asked for more! It made me cry (out of happiness of course!)

Re: They very first thing you ever cooked?

I used to make chapattis (round ones) when I was five from the little atta my mom used to take out for me to support my interest in cooking. As far as I remember, they used to taste good to me.. no one else got to try them. I also got to make chai and boil eggs when I was 5 with supervision offcourse. When I was 10, I made chicken soup for the first time all by myself and it turned out good.. the next day I made achar chicken with some help from my uncle and it turned out great. When I turned twelve, I made chana and aloo all by myself and that is I think what I consider my first dish ever that I made my myself and was surprised that I succeeded.. it turned out ok. After that I started cooking everyday... and within a month, I was an expert. However, to this day I do not know how to make the perfect rice!!! and am always reluctant about salt. But practice makes perfect...
But people do enjoy eating the food I cook because I relaly lovveee cooking..
the only bad part is tht I do not liek eating what I cook :(
