Easier said than done. How would you react if some lamer comes in and insults your family. Case in point, a certain thread in General (now removed) where someone made lame comment about irem’s and her father. It was a bit too personal.

5abi a regular Pakistani on these forums could have made the same comment. (I never saw it though) We get personal here regardless of our race, religion or gender. Irem's point is to get rid of the goray and Hindus - it runs deeper than the whole non-Pakistani issue.

irem, i think you need a vacation from GS. Its only a website at the end of the day. Pick up a hobby or two or some book to read instead of GS.

to be honest though, I am yet to come across a single indian board where anti indian comments do not get immediately removed, and where cursing of islam/pakistan isnt rampant. take a look at TOI (the largest indian paper) and sulekha for examples. incredibly sickening. and typically in my experience only left wing american forums allow america bashing on their turf.
so atleast GS with its openminded policies towards what can be expressed puts them to shame.

I dont think those boards you mention care about GS or who is putting who to shame. They have their own vision and mission and control over what is broadcasted to the rest of the world

sure. likewise i dont think anyone beyond this forum cares about the views expressed here. the point remains that while we are open to hearing alterate opinions, for all our alleged closed mindedness etc, they for all their claimed enlightenment, are not.
we for all our closedmindedness can let them speak their mind without editing their thoughts out, and they for all their polish cant afford us the same privilege without getting personal and petty. i can show u examples of how they react to expression of opinion if u want.

Rav, ofcourse, there should be alternative opinion. I am as much against censorship as UC Berkeley.
But anti-pak cut n paste in my opinion is not enlightenment or alternative opinion. Its a certain individuals agenda as you said above somewhere.

Irem it doesn’t really have to be a sincere ‘discussion’. You can just state your opinion (no matter how stupid it may be) and walk away..but you have the right to express it in a civilized manner. People take sides when it comes to countries. Religions, ideologies they identify with. Just like your ghairat doesn’t allow you to take any shyt against Pakistan..how do you expect an American or Indian to take the crap dished out to them. No offense but I don’t see how you are different from them :-)
