what do you guys think of it? has anyone had their hair permanently straightened??
I have really thick long hair.. they used to be really curly once upon a time but after the pregnancy they are sorta more tamed..
I do like my volume, but i get volume even if i straighten my hair cus of the thickness of my baal…
I think wavy/curly hair is ultra sexy but straight hair is sooo easy to manage and it looks professional at work.. so i dunno
i have a ghd and its like a life saviour, but having to wait for hebz to sleep before i can touch my hair.. and trying to work around that to get ready for a dawat or even for work.. its hard..
what should i do?
it’ll cost me somewhere like $500+.. is it worth it?
For some people Sadzzz, its worth it. Its not for me because I like having the flexibility of curly/straight. I know one girl who did the thermal and it looked beautiful on her, but she also had extremely course, curly, thick hair. She kinda needed it, or so she thought.
For you, if it saves you time, energy, etc and you can easily afford it...do it. I think straight hair is soooooo sexy!
I'd prob be crying in a weeks time thinking what have i done. I do like the flexibilty of culry and straight... but its such a task working yourself up to washing the hair.. drying and then straightening.. the straightening takes the least amount of time i must add..
**Hi, I have had permenant straightening done three times. It lasted me about a year every time i done it. I have VERY thick and frizzy hair, and it used to take me about an hour to straighten it everyday. It used to be very time consuming, and damage my hair with all the heat.
When I had permenant straightening done, my hair was relaxed, but still wavy. I still had to run the straighteners throught it to make it 100% straight, but it only took me about 10 mins to straighten! A lot of ppl commented, how healthy and shiny my hair looked.
It still curls with tongs, so you still have that flexibility!
You can get home kits which are A LOT cheaper, I have tried the home kit once. I do recommend it. **
I've done it around 5 times and loved it. I'm giving my hair a break from it this year though as the process does slightly stretch your hair and make it finer and I think if I have it done again then I will end up doing more harm than good. Love the way it looks when it's done though although it looks best around a month after you have it done when the roots start growing and give you a little volume at the roots.
It's just a shame that it grows out so quickly and costs so much.
Lots of harsh chemicals involved make sure u follow-up with the right after-care such as shampoo's for "treated" hair and conditioners for "treated" hair.. these chemicals make u're hair very dry and more prone to breakage.
