I was wondering, how many of you left home to pursue your education? Let it be in other state or abroad. Do you miss that comfort, homemade delicious NOT-BURNED-TO-ASHES meals? and after finishing studies, did you move back or moved to some other place?
I went to boarding school at 16. Loved it. Missed home but parents came to visit us every month for the weekend. And of course went home during vacations. No issues with food because we had great cooks where we were at… in fact dad always put me on a diet when I went home :hinna:.
Then came to the US to study. All by myself. Stayed on campus with roomates. Cooked myself. No problems there either.
But the fact of the matter is that there’s no aloo key parathas like mom’s.
My home where I grew up used to be in KSA I don't think its gonna come back but whenever I visit mom I love her not exactly but my daddy's cooking. And I think after marriage either its a boy or a gal they start new life, new family with kids which is their actual home after they leave their parents so I am living in it right now alhamdulillah.:)
Went abroad (Europe) and even though had an amazing time - it was surely good to be back home. I shared the bathroom and kitchen with 12 people - so when I got home it was like a huge sigh of relief - I could go to the bathroom in peace!
So I'd definitelyy say there's noooooooooo place like home!
I think first few months are pretty hard. After that you get use to stuff and get busy with life. But I think I wasn't only missing the home... I missed Pakistan. I cried :(
