Then there were hijackers..

Pakistan is contuing its series of executions almost daily and another long-awaited yet interesting case, after Saulat Mirza, was closed today when the hijackers of PIA plane were executed. They apparently belong to baloch seperatists movement.

As much as I’m usually with human rights watch or Amnesty international, knowing this country I think Pakistan is on the right path of executing the convicts.

Justice is finally served.

The men were executed at jails in Karachi and Hyderabad.

They hijacked a Pakistani International Airways flight in May 1998 and ordered the pilot to fly to India but the plane was diverted and stormed by troops.
Pakistan has put at least 130 people to death since lifting a moratorium on executions in December.
The men - Shabbir Rind, Shahsawar Baloch and Sabir Rind - were members of the left-wing Baloch Students’ Organisation (BSO), who were demanding more resources, such as gas and electricity, for their region.
Death sentence

They were sentenced to be executed in October 1998 but remained on death row until a moratorium on executions was lifted after the Peshawar school massacre.
Four other men were hanged on Thursday at jails across the country. They were convicted in murder cases and were not linked to the hijackers.
PIA flight 554 took off from Turbat, in the south of Balochistan, and was heading for Karachi when the attackers boarded during a stop-over in Gwadar.
They commandeered the Fokker shortly after take-off, and demanded the captain fly directly to Delhi.
He told them there was not enough fuel, but agreed to bring the plane as far as Bhuj, an airstrip in Gujrat, India.
Instead, he landed in Hyderabad where security forces were waiting.

[ul]
[li]In 2013 the numbers were: Iran: 369, Iraq: 169, Saudi Arabia: 79, Somalia: 68, USA: 39[/li][/ul]

[ul]
[li]China and North Korea refuse to divulge information on the number of executions that take place within their borders[/li][/ul]

BBC Urdu’s Riaz Sohail in Karachi reports that in order to let the hijackers think they were in India, authorities banned the use of loudspeakers in mosques around the airport.

Troops then stormed the plane and overpowered the hijackers. Passengers and crew were unharmed.

The hijacking on 24 May came just four days before Pakistan carried out nuclear tests in Balochistan, which the BSO opposed.
The province is one of the most underdeveloped regions in the country and has become the site of a long-running conflict between separatists and security forces.[COLOR=inherit]

Re: Then there were hijackers..

I am all for human rights but these convicts ran out of due course. They exhausted all their apples etc so its only logical to hang them instead of feeding them from Tax payer’s money.

Just having a good motive does not and should not make you immune to law you also have to take correct rout to that destination. Even if their motive was to get rights for Baluchistan, their procedure was wrong. Only thing I might want to add is that if there were some master-mind, some planers, they should be caught and hanged too in addition to the people who actually executed the plan.

Re: Then there were hijackers..

Among all these executions, is there any of the Mujahids included? Why do they remain immune from prosecution and execution? Wasn’t the pretext for resuming executions was to go after the (Jehadi) terrorists?

Re: Then there were hijackers..

Among the first ones to be hanged in Dec 2014 were Dr Usman and Arshad Mahmood (GHQ Attackers) and there are few more.

Re: Then there were hijackers..

I am sorry most except those who attacked on a Traitor (Mush) are yet waiting

Re: Then there were hijackers..

Agreed with this :k:

Especially Pakistani agencies arent much interested in digging out and reach the root rather just try to put some honorary medals on their chest after first available success.

A perfect example is recent kiling of Ismailis and that of Sabeen Mehmud.

First it was accused on RAW, then its found out that IBA young student with radical extremists. And now we’ve just found out Rangers has arrested MQM workers who have also confessed for all this..

comeon guyz, make up yr mind to the least.. :smokin:

Re: Then there were hijackers..

RANGERS OF karachi
FC OF Baluchistan
Above the law

Re: Then there were hijackers..

Yes, you are right. But after these two there have been many executions but none of the Jehadis are touched. Most of them don’t get proper prosecution anyway.

Re: Then there were hijackers..

It really is time to swap both of them. I.e. rangers to baluchistan n fc to karachi If they want to maintain unbiased operations. Both of them r in the same area for very long time n now almost become a party having own interests.

Re: Then there were hijackers..

Not to swap, but complete withdrawal. Time to empower police, eliminate political influence on police.

But who will do it. Rangers in khi for so long. Y they r not being questioned abt their performance. If they were being restrained. Y they did not opt out. Keep eating the resources of sindh n khi.
