Themed Parties...

By that I mean that the menu is somewhat streamlined into a certain theme:

Mexican
Italian
Chinese

A few new ones I am coming across are:

Cookies
Cupcakes
Pakoray
Dips
Chocolate

Which one of these (or if you have a different one not listed) would you be more inclined to go to?

I know I am a chocolate nut and not everyone likes the stuff but would you go to a chocolate tasting?

Re: Themed Parties...

^ erm, YES!! :D
have one, i'll come over!

i prefer themes based on patterns or colours rather than food or characters, but that won't stop me from attending a food-themed one.

Re: Themed Parties...

I have never been to a themed party. They must be popular across the ocean, but not here in the UK. :(

Is it usually for kids??

Re: Themed Parties...

Oh I would definitely go to one with cakes and cupcakes ...:D

Re: Themed Parties...

I am planning one...and if you're ever here...you better come!

It can be for kids or adults.

Recently, there was a cookie party at my house. I also have been to pakora parties, chocolate parties, etc.

They are FUN.

me too!!!!

Re: Themed Parties…

A friend of mine recently through a Dessert Party…the invite was for 9:00 pm, couples only! Dress code was “flirty/romantic”…" after some clarification, found out she meant ruffles, silks, etc…lol! Anyway, she put on a wonderful spread of cupcakes, mini parfaits & tirimisus, biscotti & coffee and a chocolate fountain with fruit, pretzels & poundcake. It was a really fun night! Hubby and I went out for an early dinner before heading over there…This friend of mine is REALLY into themed parties…this summer she had a huge “white” party for her husband’s 40th Bday…yup, dress code was all white…lol!

Re: Themed Parties…

What do you think of having a chocolate fondue party? The chocolate fondue can be placed in a bowl that is being heated…and then you put out a variety of dipping matterials such as bread, fruit (banana, strawberries), pretzels, marshmallows, graham crackers, cookies, pieces of cake (such as cheesecake). Everyone can spear these items with one of those huge fork like thingies and dip them in the chocolate.

Or you can have an overall fondue party…where you have a cheese fondue for an appetizer and you can place an assortment of dipping materials that go wel with cheese such as certain fruits (apples), veggies, and breads. And then serve a dessert fondue.

For a chocolate-themed party…you can even serve savoury dishes that have chocolate in them. Mostly sweet treats come to mind when people think of chocolate…so I think it would be an interesting surprised to have a savoury dish with a spicy chocolate-based sauce. You could even incorporate a chocolate facial segment in your party…where the girls get to apply a premade chocolate mask. And they sit around and talk while it dries and get to wash it off.

Re: Themed Parties...

I would love to do something like this! but I have have no clue where to start...

Re: Themed Parties...

my neighbor hosted a chocolate tasting house warming party. I was soooooo good.

I have also attended cheese parties. Breakfast at midnight parties. Just Candy parties.

We went to one which only had soup. My hubby came home very hungry.
