~ Theme for boys on mehendi ~

For my brother’s mehendi, i want a theme for the boys. They will wear kurtay with white shalwars and a duppatta. I need your help to decide the:

  • colour of Kurta
  • colour of the Duppata

well what colour is the bride wearing? Once you know that, you can do a complimenting colour to that.

I am assuming that the bride will be wearing a yellow color. I suggest that the yellow be mixed with another color (normally people use pink or green). If the bride wears green with yellow than the groom can wear a dark, deep, military green desi outfit to go with the bride's outfit. If it is pink and yellow, than the groom can wear a yellow and green dupata on a white kurta.

This is the color combo I was talking about. you can change up the design and colors.

I had seen another one on this blog but I cant seem to find it at this time but that one was gorgeouss!!

dudes should have like a proper length ajrak or shawl etc, these short length kapras remind me of the kapra on teh shoulder of bus amd taxi drivers in pakistan who use it to wipe the dashboard and windshield every so often or the ones waiters at dhabas have on their shoulders, wiping off tables for dhabba guests.

^ lol! i agree.
at my bro's mehendi, the boys on the girls side wore white shalwar kameezes with orange and yellow tiedyed dupatta's.
the boys on our side (groom's side) wore navy blue kurtas, white shalwars, and green/gold dupattas. this was based on my brother's outfit, which was a green kurta, white shalwar and navy blue dupatta. it looked really good!

I am thinking for boys on my side (bride) to wear black kurta and black shalwar with red dupattas, since all the girls will be wearing red too?

I don't know what it is but IMO I do not find the uniform thing so attractive- yes it is very organized etc but I find that a mehndi should be so colorful and not a blob of colors all around. I went to a mehndi where all of the girls wore the same outfit and all had chotis- A BIT TOO MUCH IMO. I love it when you incorporate a little something but let people wear whatever they like. For ex: give out dupattay and make every guy wear the same duppatay. Girls I feel should never be in the same clothes they are too many pretty clothes out there :P
