‘okay’ is used as an affirmation as well as in a threatening intonation to forewarn others of what it would be like, if they are not understood.

partly it has to do with the convenient use of the semantics as a filler in the heated debate of diff kinds, but do you think that it may be a sign of the speaker’s own sense of a want to first confirm that they state, after which they say, ‘theekh hey!’ or ‘okay’

what kind of mental processing or evaluation is going on, when this happens in speech?
