The winter’s upon us!
The chilly winds remind of what lies ahead. I can almost picture
the shivering, the coats, the shoveling of snow, cleaning the cars of snow everyyyyy mooorninggg.
These are seasonal chores. We just love to hate doing it.
But…what sucks more than anything is the depressing
outlook that comes with the dull, grey, always cloudy if not mildly
sunny days. It takes a major toll on most peoples’ moods.
When the sun stops appearing so do smiles and extracurricular
activities that we’re used to. Winter’s named the most depressing
season of the year, as opposed to spring/summer, hence the need for extremely warm
holidays such as Thanks Giving, which make a perfect recipe to get ppl
together and when there are pots, they’re bound to strike
and make noise. It’s the social structure that is being revived.
I find myself sitting before the T.V. most evenings during winter, sippin
on oh-so-warm coffee/tea or hot cocoa! It’s like being in heaven one
sip at a time. Some fun can be adjoined with snow. I see snowball fights,
little children making snow angels, and snowmen arising where once layed green grass.
This is the only season that a carrot is dealt with dignity and takes its mighty place as
a Snowman’s nose for once.
Everyone loves to get together at evening; infact, winter is a family-time encouraging season.
You’re bound to hear ‘Tis the season to be Jolly, fala lala laaa, lala la laaa’…
HOWEVER:
People have been known to feel extremely depressed during
this season. Then there are those that adopt to it year after year and head
for the ice skate rinks, and the alps for some skiing.
SO?!..
Are you one of those? Does winter depress you, or do you make the most of it and do in this season what’s not possible in others? What do you do in winter?
