Rubbish. It’s major exploitation on their part. First of all, the show is nowhere near what it used to be in its first two seasons, which was pretty good stuff. But they’ve just gone in a downward spiral ever since.
Now they focus on mantaining and running a storyline like a soap opera rather then keep proceedings short, simple and humorous. The ‘Chandler and Monica’ plot seemed to have promise initially but by dragging and elongating it it’s become painfully boring for most viwers. And this week’s season finale has big disappointment potential.
I’d say succes has gone to these ppl’s heads. Among so many petty disagreements, you had ones like aniston-cox-kudrow demanding to walk if elle macpherson didn’t wear a sweater or adorn less hip-hugging clothing than them. Talk about screen insecurity, macpherson not wearing a sweater would never have decreased the three’s biz value.
The deal’s worth more than Dominica’s annual income and larger than the amount the U.S government spent on Agent Orange research. But the sextet were under the wings of warner bros., so no surprises there. Perry and Schwimmer might almost be entitled to their share, but the other four are just miles behind talent-wise. Not worth even a fourth of what they’re gona get. For crying out loud, the show’s not even the real new york, and pretentiousness runs suicidally high.
If it wasn’t for the fact that most sitcoms being rookied are pretty poor, they would never have continued for another two seasons.
I long for the days when the show was high on quality and as a former fan hope they can return to better stuff in the coming season.
