down comforters, but try a down alternative, it may be lighter, warmer, cheaper and easier to maintain and less allergy issues.

we have couple of down alternative fibre ones, they are warm and they don't stink like down fill :)
The difference I found between razai and down filled is that razai is heavier, down/poly fibre filling is light and is equally warm

i find kambals, the heavy ones imported from iran the warmest.

Between a Duvet and Razai , Duvet wins hands on … I got one from Pakistan a long time ago since I kept hearing how nice and cozy they are … but realized later that not only are they really heavy but also start stinking after a while .. plus what ever is in them , it started getting clumpy :no: so i ditched it and now we only use Duvets …
Khumar is right about the Irani blankets … they are so soft and warm … but its a pain to wash them :no: so we use them only as bed decor 
.. they are beautiful though

^^ you can always put a cover on them, like a duvet cover or something custom made for the kambal itself. that way you only have the cover to clean, not the entire kambal

i find blanket the warmest... I dun own an iranian ones so I dunno but any blanket is better than the comforter!
Razaees are very heavy so I just can't stand them!
