^ I agree.
Graphic artists can get paid really well…especially in the northern states. I have two cousins who are successful graphic designers…one of them was also the creative director in her company. The field of Arts is not known for being an immediately financially lucrative one…there are plenty of “struggling artists” out there. How much you make…and how fast and big you make it…can depend upon geographical location, being talented, having the right connections, and also what field you’ve specialized in. For example, graphic designers/interior designers/architects/advertisers…may struggle LESS… than a fine artist (painter, sculptor, etc).
Regardless of what profession one belongs to (be it medicine, education, engineering)…we are by nature very visual…we appreciate beauty in its various forms.. Society values aesthetics…which is why (despite being a difficult field)…the ARTS/ARTISTS…are needed.
Also, apart from earning you more money…a higher degree can also sometimes bring about more practical career opportunities. Psychology is a field…where in order to do counseling or clinical practice…you’d have much better luck if you have a Masters or a PhD.
