The US Foriegn Service

Re: The US Foriegn Service

Wait a sec, Muslim_Queen - If CM did post those things and if he is now seriously considering a job working for the US State Dept, then Ohio guy has a legitimate point (filtering out the personal nastiness, of course). It does sound a bit hypocritical.

Re: The US Foriegn Service

minah, hypocrisy is allowed in moderation for certain individuals, tis the way on Gupshup. we must allow ourselves to become accustomed to this. :)

Re: The US Foriegn Service

CM, don;t listen to these naysayers.Go forward with your plans kid. Remember, US runs the world and will be running the world for another 300 or so years…so you want to be where the power is. All this stuff you wrote is forgiven. Call it jealousy or whatever..look at Irem. I see you an dIrem as the same. All this hatred towards america is actually self loathing projecte outwards. WE will whip you inot shape in no time. :k:

Re: The US Foriegn Service

Personal nastiness?

He mentions he is interested in the British Foreign Service exam, and here is what he says about deaths of British soldiers in a C130 crash in Iraq?:

"Damn those engies are good, well actually they are very bad but hey we don't care. Less men for the freedom fighters to worry about."

What strange parallel universe are we living in where someone could so callously comment on the deaths of soldiers, and then talk about representing the best interests of that country? WTF? I damn sure would not want a two faced kid representing my country with these views!

May the FBI "Carnivore" program take due note! (Of course by merely typing FBI and "Carinvore" on a Pakistani web site, I can gurantee that this will be found!)

Re: The US Foriegn Service

^ hahahahah..

Silly kids...

Re: The US Foriegn Service

Old man of the people i was hoping would respond. Honestly I am just giving the test. I want to see personally if i can make it. I have been discouraged from joining the Pakistan Foriegn Service, by my father a career diplomat and all his batch mates. So the Pak FO is out of the question.

I do wish to be a career diplomat, so the second alternative is the US FO as i was born here yadda yadda yadda. The idea that i may join is still very far away. A good 3 or 4 months away. I will decide if i am willing to sell my soul for a good job. But that happens after or if i pass the written test.

My question was not with regard to if people think i should do it or not. My question was with regard to how people take into play the fact that a Pakistani is working for the State Dept. Its an issue of impression and image, or what characteristics they place on a Pakistani at the State Dept.

But i am no where near getting it. I might not even get it.

OG thanks for that. Now i know i am perfect for the job.

Re: The US Foriegn Service

Matsui who will succeed this hegemon after 300 years?

Re: The US Foriegn Service

Minah —OG does not know what personal reason CM might have for his decisions. You do not dig up peoples posts to use against them if they ask for an honest opinion. And you do not insult their self respect you do not act like a 3 year old when you are an adult. He did mention that he was not dying for this job, I geuss everyone missed it. In the end it is HIS choice.

If you dont know what a person is going through ,or what a person is actually feeling, you do not go around degarding them in this manner.

Miss M – you would know.

ps OG go read todays paper, and let me know how many innocent people you have helped to kill. Dont give such BS unless you are, were and always will be an angel.

Re: The US Foriegn Service

My dear lady there is a very big difference between taking a test and commenting on acitions taken in an occupied country.

I stand by every one of those claims made by myself on the deaths of american soliders. I do believe 50% of the american population agrees with those comments.

Re: The US Foriegn Service

CM, wants to do this because he thinks he can change US foreign policy at the ripe old age of 23 o ris it 24 now.

CM you should speak to one of my cousins. Who is finishing his Masters at JFK at Harvard. He worked for 3 years after undergrad at CFR in NY and is now being hounded by all the “companies” and their men to join. ( I just gave a background interview) He can give you some perspective on what it takes. His father is not a diplomatic and the skills do not run in the genes, as they say. Let me know, I will hook it up.

Don’t mean to be derogatory, but when I hear siht bout my father this and my father that..and I was fking Kofi Anan when I was 2, means siht in America really. This might work for the diplomatic corps of sihthole countries…it means nothing here, son. We need to on that wall…we want you on that wall…we want you to hand deliver AQ Khan to us on a platter. Now chop chop… :k:

Re: The US Foriegn Service

"You do not dig up peoples posts to use against them"

Are you out of your mind? The US State Department is going to give him a colorectal exam the size of I-95, and they will find out his every view. I had a college room mate who went into the DEA, and they called me 20 years later to see if he smoked dope in College.

Moreover, "Diplomats" are paid to be "diplomatic". They are not paid to have opinions, they are paid to gather information, and to implement the policies of their government. I would trust CM to do this about as far as I could throw him. He may think he's smart, but I have never seen such blatant hypocracy in all my life. In case you have not noticed, post 9/11, what you say DOES matter, particualrly if you are dealing with sensitive information in the diplomatic corps.

He has a snowballs chance in hell of making the security cut given his views. Good Riddance...

Re: The US Foriegn Service

Sarah, the kaffirs..India and China and those souless but beautiful assed Brazilians.....

Re: The US Foriegn Service

Miss_M ain’t a hypocrit. Sheesh!

CM weigh out the pros and cons of the position. Make a chart. Charts are fun.

Re: The US Foriegn Service

Matsui, if Saudi Arabia due to some freak of chance becomes it, can I take away your big stick? :p

Re: The US Foriegn Service

That may well be true and all, but your reaction seems as if you are extra-ordinarily troubled by the mere notion of him joining US FS. If he gets in, he gets in - if he doesn’t, he doesn’t. Whats the big whooplah here. I hope you don’t take everything so personally.

Re: The US Foriegn Service

^ Sarah, there is a better chance of Saudi Arabia opening a Ram Mandir and selling pork fired rice at homosexual nightclubs than that coming true. :)

Here is the reality in the early 80's, per capital GDP of Saudis was around $20, now it is $4K. That is less than one generation...in another generation, we will see Saudis working as maids and cleaners in Pakistan. :)

Re: The US Foriegn Service

I doubt i can change foriegn policy that has been implemented for 30 years. This isn't an arab country where one person defines foreign policy. But alas what can one star-eyed boy do?

Ok i will state one thing very clearly.

I DO NOT CARE IF YOU THINK I SHOULD JOIN OR NOT. Your opinions do not count on my final decision.

However I do want to hear about the labels attached to pakistani individuals who are part of the US government.

Re: The US Foriegn Service

I wonder at times. Sometimes we should act our ages, not like mere 4 year olds. And theres something called “TACT” we should especially use it when dealing with others.

Re: The US Foriegn Service

BTW just to make a point my views are tempered compared to some of the stuff said by american delegates.

Re: The US Foriegn Service

CM, Faisal is right. You should go ahead. I wish you all the success. I am going to go for Musharraf's job. Wish me luck.
