The UN and Climate Change

THE 2014 UN meeting made news recently about abstain / no vote. Setting that controversial decision aside, climate change was another issue discussed. Don’t know what the outcome was. Interestingly, last week’s WSJ had an article on which leader stays in which 5 star plus hotel.

John Kerry stays at the Waldorf. His suite looked palatial. Kerry is supposed to be liberal. Could he have set an example and opted for a simpler residence with less luxuries and lower carbon footprint? Not to mention the entourage that travels with him.

Folks from Saudi bring their own cooks for the week. And their own furniture

Dignitaries book entire floors for their entourage.

Could the UN require a less opulent living style? Focusing on simplicity rather than royal treatment of the UN members?

How does it retain credibility on the climate change issue if it considers it’s members to be above green and simple living.

How about leading with example, Senator / Secretary Kerry?

I thought I opened this thread in General. Looks like I inadvertently opened this in Business. Would the mods please move this to General? Thanks.
