In my life time, I have seen two different persons labeled as terrorist by the west, both have similar agenda and met the same fate, killed by westerners but both chose totally different path to implement it, one chose to kill people and eventually was most hated figure, where people of his ideology tends to dis-associate from him, whereas the other still is respected in the masses and people still feel proud to follow his model.
the 1st one is none other but Osama bin Laden, who chose the path of destruction to counter American influence or imperialism, he killed number of American soldiers, he engaged them in long war and he somehow able to make a some dent into the only super-power of the world… and during this course, he have killed thousands of people who have either nothing to do with the American policy making or they were victim of same American policies or about whom American didn’t give a $hit if they live or die… moreover, by his policies, Muslims of the world were suffered big time, they were denied fundamental rights, they suffered humiliation in general, last but not least the Islam was termed as wild and violent religion of some jungle…
The 2nd one is Sheikh Ahmed Yasin, who believed that, Muslims at this point are not in prepared to fight the imperialism by power or by any mean… so he devoted his life to get muslims under his influence prepared for the leadership by focusing on education and health related issues… HAMAS was his work, the social party of Occupied Palestine, which runs number of educational and Medical centers through the middle east, with prime focus on Palestine… these people were not terrorist, but they never liked Israel… so when they democratically won the election, the west and Israel labeled them as terrorist out-fit…
Sheikh Ahmed Yasin was killed in missile attack by Israeli forces, but his work benefiting the Palestinian society remains there.. his approach can be adopted by many, has OBL opted for the same and have invested his millions of dollars in the education sector in the muslim world, had he financed the research and development work, has he financed the space technology in the muslim world, he might have been known along with the like of Tussi of Muslim world…
The whole point is, violence is not the solution to the problem it is evident from the movement of OBL, had he focused in the non-violent methods as stated above, after today after 15 odd years, Muslim world may had it own technological brains.. but all he did was made human bombs…
