The tunnel towards Roza-e-Rasool.

I want to know all about it. How far was it dug before the plan was uncovered ? What I know about is below

*It is said that 2 Jews in mid 1800 came to live in Madinah. Bought a house near Roza-e-Rasool. They portrayed themselves as very pious muslims and became very famous by helping others. They then started to dig a tunnel towards Roza-e-Rasoon and Nawoosbillah steal the body of Hazoor :saw:. Then one of the Royal Members of Turks had a dream a couple of times that the Roza-e-Rasool in danger of some sort and saw the faces of these 2 people. *
He then came to Madinah and somehow uncovered their plans

Tell me what truth to it is if anybody know more authentic of a story. Thank you.

Re: The tunnel towards Roza-e-Rasool.

the name of the person was **Noor-ud-Deen Zangi:rehm: **whose commander in-chief later on became known in histroy as well, Sultan Salaahud Deen Ayoobi:rehm:

Re: The tunnel towards Roza-e-Rasool.

Have heard the story as well but don't know how true it is.

Re: The tunnel towards Roza-e-Rasool.

I would be surprised if it was true. By the mid 1800s relationships between Muslims and Jews and not yet soured because Zionism was still in its infancy.

On the other hand, if it was Christians during the Crusader era then it's quite likely to be true. A few decades later a Crusader knight, Reynauld de Chatillon, led an expedition into the Hijaz to try and seize and destroy Mecca; so it would not surprise me if before that they attempted to seize the body of the Prophet (pbuh).

Re: The tunnel towards Roza-e-Rasool.

No the story is not from 1800s, its from the time of Crusades and as pointed out by Abba Jaan above, Noor Uddin Zengi was the ruler at the time and he caught the culprits...Salah uddin Ayubi was one of Noor Uddin's Generals...

It is said that when Noor Uddin went down the tunnel...the culprit had actually breached the roza mubarak of Syedna Umar...it was as if he was buried a few hours ago...
