The trouble with mosques!

Non muslims are allowed in a mosque but not in Kaba

Braveheart you are either very stupid, or uninformed.

Since when are non muslims not allowed in mosques? Your thought has no basis. You just "think" you wont be allowed. I have seen many people from different religions in my mosque. Sikhs, Jews, Christians even Atheists.

An example : In todays society we have mosques all over the world. Many of the people around the mosques are not muslims. How then do the mosques get their parcels? Well...non muslims enter the mosque to deliver the parcel.

Mormons don't allow non-believers into their temples.

That's not true either. I have been to their Churches a few times.

I know that non-mormons are not allowed to enter the temple during a wedding, but I'm not sure about regular sunday services?

Mormons are very fundamentalist and kind of borderline cult from what I've seen. Of course I wouldn't be alarmed if I was sitting next to one I didn't know on a plane :)

I am a non-muslim but I have entered into few mosques who are of historical importance for sight seeing. Eventhough they knew I am non-muslim nobody barred me from entering in.

If you entered then it was before it had been dedicated, non-believers are not allowed into the temples once dedication has taken place.

If a non-Muslim entered a Mosque, how would anyone know that he was a non-Muslim? It's not like a secret handshake is required is it? If I went to a Mosque and just sort of immitated what everyone else was doing, wouldn't I be able to pass without anyone being any the wiser?

As to Mormons, I think you need to differentiate between their regular neighborhood places of worship and what they refer to as their temples. They have a great big beautiful Temple in Salt Lake City that is sort of also a tourist attraction. Non-Mormons can nose around in a lot of places there but there is some part of the Temple that non-Mormons are not supposed to enter. As to what we would think of as the everyday churches/wards or whatever they call them, anyone and everyone can go into them.

Mormon temple in Salt Lake City..

as myvoice said…

Only members of the Mormon church are permitted to enter LDS temples. However, visitors are welcome to enjoy the interesting architectural styles of the buildings’ exteriors, adjacent visitor centers, and the landscaped grounds surrounding these houses of worship.

If fact finding was the purpose of this thread, the title could have been a bit beter thought out so it's not inflammatory. as it is, it sounds like an accusation that mosques are breeding grounds for terrorism

It appears as if most Mormons can’t go into a Mormon Temple either. I don’t know how accurate this article is but here is an excerpt.

“Mormon Temples are the most secret/sacred facet of Mormonism and
are completely different from neighborhood Mormon chapels. Once
a new Temple is dedicated, no non-Mormons are ever allowed
inside. Most Mormons are not permitted to enter the Temple
either. Only Mormons who have passed stringent requirements of
worthiness determined by a penetrating private interview with
their Bishop, and then a second similar interview with their
Stake President, are issued a “Temple Recommend” which permits
them to enter the Temple (See figure 1). Temple Recommends are
valid for one year after which the entire interview process must
be repeated to receive a new Recommend. According to LDS church
leaders, less than 20% of adult Mormons have valid Temple Recom
mends and thus are qualified to attend the temple. Less than 10%
of adult Mormons regularly attend the Temple.”

hahahahahah…:rotfl:

And I thought it was only Catholic Priests that gave "penetrating private interviews."

:rotfl" That has really brightened my morning MV,nothing like a good laugh!

I know i have made a mistake,in thinking that non-muslims are not allowed in mosques, now i know better.

What i was trying to find out is more along the lines of how much recruiting and encitement goes on within mosques.

Now i know that it does happen, because i have seen documentries, with translation,of mulahs calling for the death of jews and lots of other anti west rantings, albiet this was in the west bank and gaza.

But just how much of it goes on and how far does it extend away from the middle east?
Are kids in these religous schools taught to hate the west as well.
And what do the majority of right thinking muslims, think of religious clerics, who do this?

In the Middle East it goes on with relation to what's going on in the Middle East. Outside the ME it's pretty rare - the fact that only one mosque from thousands has been raided in the UK pretty much bears that out I'd say.

That`s right it is the first to be raided but i would wager that there are many more under very close observation.I accept what you say in regard to the middle east but even Mussharef has accepted that there are schools who are teaching kids the same sort of hatred, now it may be a very small percentage,i dont know but what ever, teaching kids to hate,is nothing short of child abuse, would you not agree?
