The Tilak in Hinduism...

Very much reminds me of the prayer marks on a Muslim’s forehead…

Could it be, that the original way of worship was the way Muslims worshipped, and throughout the long eons of Hindu history, it was forgotten…But the only thing remaining in the memories and knowledge of the people, was the curious mark on the forehead of the real Hindu worshippers…

If you look closely, every Muslim has a differently placed, sized prayer mark…Some have one single mark on the forehead, some have parts of the forehead creased while some have lines going horizontally on their forhead, two or three…

If we look at the different markings in hinduism, you’ll see they also vary a lot…The two lines made by the southern swamis, the three conjoined horizontal lines of the regular Pundits, the vertical red mark of the Rajputs…

I believe, during the ages, people just remembered that the true Hindus had markings on their forehead…To which they applied logic and made it into a third eye as a form of explanation…

Makes sense, don’t it…

Re: The Tilak in Hinduism…

No, it could be that this is another cut’n’paste from other religions and call it islam. as long as it makes you more spiritual… :ramnaamsatyahaivaala:

Re: The Tilak in Hinduism…

It does make sense- i remember reading in a book that hinduism 's ancient scripts had many things in common with islam–and some pundits did their research some days back that the person all hindus are waiting for have arrived in arabia some 1400 years ago in the shape of Hadrat Muhammad :saw:

I might not be that far off…

Take a gander at this site…Yahoo | Mail, Weather, Search, Politics, News, Finance, Sports & Videos

Check out this link too…http://www.biblemysteries.com/lectures/abrahaminarabia.htm

And this one too…Who Was Abraham?

(Don’t read the whole articles, just highlight the words ‘Ibrahim’ or ‘Abraham’…)

Here’s my view on it…

Seems a few credibly literate people seem to agree with me…
