The Tiger Ladies

by Kashmiri Hindu author Sudha Kaul residing in NJ, USA…

A wonderful depiction of the gorgeous landscape of Kashmir and its colorful, beautiful people in the backdrop of paritition…it’s a novel based on the author’s own life experiences yet devoid of any bias, religious or ethnic, which is truly refreshing. In the novel, she emphasizes the point time and again that while growing up in a village in Kashmir all Muslims and Hindus considered themselves Kashmiris first instead of dividing themselves along religious lines. This is how they aligned themselves then and this is how they carry on their traditions even now. Most of her family friends’ (Muslim and Hindu) are residing outside Pakistan/India in countries like the US, Canada, and the UK yet they make it a point to get together at least once a year to celebrate their mutual traditions and background while bringing cultural awareness to their progeny.

A “must read” :flower2:
