The Tales of Beedle the Bard

Waste of life.

Really.

I think she’s (Rowling) is just milking it now.

The book looks lovely, very quaint and all, but the contents, such a disappointment.

My main gripe is her use of vocabulary. She’s meant to be a children’s author she should have kept it slighly simple. Im pretty sure she made up a few words aswell as just names!

Re: The Tales of Beedle the Bard

i agree. instead of writing a proper ending to the book, she goes and writes this weird thing.

super fanatics will ofcourse make her even more richer.

did you hear about how she sued this guy for copy-right infringement cuz he wrote a guide for the HP books. he's going to write another one ofcourse, but jeez, how much money do you want to milk?

Re: The Tales of Beedle the Bard

Innit!

Now dont get me wrong, I LOVE Harry, I really really do. But she needs to stop.

I am guilty of making her richer, however I have given my copy to my chachi, as she can actually understand some of Rowling's made up words!

Re: The Tales of Beedle the Bard

yuck. i saw it, opened it, read a line, and put it back :( i wish there was more hp to come instead of this.

I did too. However, I make do with rereading them all atleast once a year. She didnt really do a good job of the ending though so anymore books would be naff in my opinion.

Re: The Tales of Beedle the Bard

really that bad you guys?!

My best friend T is a huge fan I was gonna buy it for her sake..
I shouldnt then?

I would still buy it for her. Its a very quaint looking book. I stare at mine sometimes. Its nice.

Re: The Tales of Beedle the Bard

now ur just confusing me

Re: The Tales of Beedle the Bard

ok, so the contents isnt all that, but its pretty to look at. This is one book that should be judged and brought on the basis of its cover.

Samajing now?

Re: The Tales of Beedle the Bard

what is it actualy abt

Re: The Tales of Beedle the Bard

From Wiki:
Overview
Rowling wrote five stories for the book. One, "The Warlock's Hairy Heart", is not mentioned in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows;[17] three others, "The Wizard and the Hopping Pot", "The Fountain of Fair Fortune", and "Babbitty Rabbitty and her Cackling Stump", receive cursory attention.[2] "The Tale of the Three Brothers" is the only story also included entirely in The Deathly Hallows.[10]

[edit] "The Wizard and the Hopping Pot"
This story is about the legacy of an old man who, in his generosity, uses his pot to brew magical potions and antidotes for other people when they needed his help. Upon his death, he leaves all his belongings to his only son, who has none of the qualities his father had. After his father's death, the son finds the pot and a single slipper inside it together with a note from his father that reads, "In the fond hope, my son, that you will never need it".

Bitter for having nothing left but a pot, the son closes the door on every person who asks for his help. Each time he does so, the pot takes on the symptoms of the ones who ask for help. This continues until the son finally gives up and provides aid to the town. While he does this, the pot empties and a mysterious slipper falls out — one that perfectly fits the foot of the pot, and together the two walk off into the sunset.
