So I’m currently on the hunt for a good makeup artist in London and I cannot find anyone who I would trust to do my hair and makeup for my wedding. I’m more into the style of makeup they do in Pakistan; Mariam Khawaja, Ather Shehzad, Natasha Salon, Shamain, etc…you get the point. I stronglyyyy dislike the way they do makeup in the UK. I feel like brides here look like drag queens with birds nests for hair, and everything is so unblended and harsh. Regardless of whether or not you tell your makeup artist how to do makeup on you, it still ends up looking drag queen-ish.
I’ve looked at all the popular MUAs here such as MakeupbyMus, Lubna Rafiq, Azbah, Ambreen, Sadaf, but I really don’t like their style of makeup. I’m considering either Nazmeen MUA or Roobia Din but I’m still not 100% sure. I really like Fowzia Towfiq but she’s based in Birmingham and she doesn’t travel. So yeah I’m super fussy.
Does anyone have any recommendations for good hair & makeup artists here in London? I don’t mind the price as long as I feel like I can trust them!
Drag queens? seriously? Bit judgemental arent you. Tbh anams makeup sucks theres alot of good artists out there. Shame fowzia doesnt travel we have her booked for my sisters wedding.

Yes that's right - drag queens. Funny how you call me judgemental and then comment that Anam's makeup sucks. Pot kettle black. Calm yourself girl, jheeeeze.
Sorry what? You made a comment that ALL uk brides look like drag queens. Lets hope YOU find a decent mua otherwise youl become that statistic aswell. I gave my opinion on Anams work. Didnt say her brides look like drag queens. Jheez yourself(!)

Lol well your comment on Anam's makeup was ironic especially if you called me out on being judgemental and then made a catty comment yourself. You have your opinion and I have mine. If you don't have anything relevant to contribute to this thread, then kindly see yourself out instead of being butthurt.
Theres a difference between giving an opinion and being judgemental. You clearly dont know the difference like i said good luck in finding that mua who wont turn you into "all" uk brides who look like drag queens with birds nests on their heads.

Read the post properly. I don't even know why you're quoting "all" when I didn't even mention that. Seriously, stop trying to pick an argument.
I would recommend Nazmeen because she is is willing to work with the client and can do a variety of looks... I'd say you might be after the kind of makeup she does on models and actresses for shoots rather than what a lot of her UK brides request.
In another thread aminas recommended dreamingdahliaa. Some of her bridal looks are simialr to Bina Khan. I do like some of the transformations. You would have to find a separate hair stylist though.
It is amusing that up until recent years, Brides getting married in Pakistan were freaking out about not being made to look like china dolls which no resemblance to their real selves and now it's UK makeup that is too OTT.
I got my hair and makeup done by Sara Kiani for my brother's wedding functions and she also did my bhabhi's walima makeup. Sara is from Lubna Rafiqs academy and is based in London and I would highly recommend her. Not only is she friendly and understanding but wont make you look like a drag queen which is very common in uk
