on the event of tenth muharram, and the reminder of the tragedy that happended to imam hussain (ra) and his family, i wud like to share this little event from the life of the life of the prophet (saw) with u, so those who dare to speak against the family of the prophet (saw) shud know their limits…
the story is a famous one from the battle of badr…
it happened so that before the battle of badr, the uncle of the prophet (saw), abbas bin abdulmutalib (ra), who till then had not announced his Islam, was in the army of qureysh fighting against the muslims…
so the prophet (saw) said that whosoever sees abbas bin abdulmutalib (ra), shud not attack him…
similar orders were issued for some other people who had forcefully been dragged into this war…
now it so happened that hazrat huzaifa (ra) had his close family members in the army of the disbelievers inluding his father, brother and uncle and he said that “shall we kill our fathers, brothers and blood relations and spare abbas?? by Allah, if i see him i shall cut him with my sword”…
when this was reported to the prophet (saw), he was deeply saddened, and said to umar (ra), “o aba hafs.. will the face of the uncle of the prophet be hit by a sword?”…
umar (ra) said “give me permission, o messenger of Allah, and i shall cut off huzifa’s head for verily he has committed an act of hypocricy”…
but the merciful prophet (saw) did not allow this…
huzaifa (ra) was, however, a true believer and had uttered these words just out of emotions for his own family but although he was among those who fought in badr (those r the highest ranking sahabas), he used to regret that his tongue had slipped and he had said such a thing which hurt the prophet (saw) and used to say “i am not safe from the words i said on that day and i shall continue to be afraid for this until i make up for this by dying a marytr’s death fighting in the way of Allah” until he died in the battle of yamamah…
this has been narrated by ibn ishaq on the authority of abdullah bin abbas (ra)
so the point of the story is that if the prophet (saw) was so deepened by someone saying something against his uncle who was not only not among the muslims but also fighting on the other side… how do u think he wud feel about his beloved grandson being killed, whom he called his flower, the leader of the youth of paradise???
how can u even think of supporting those who planned to kill him and effected his killing???
