I hope you’re all doing well. I’ve been thinking about the afterlife for quite a while now. There is one thing that i could not answer to myself, so i ask all of you. When we die, we die at various ages, Some are babies, some kids, some are young adults, some elderly and so on…
Now, when we are resurrected. What state will we be in? Are we resurrected just as we died? Same age? Same health?
I hope to have some light shed on this aspect of afterlife, if at all possible. I know it may not be possible to answer it because we are not aware of all things that happen or will happen. But just thought i would put it out there for everyone to ponder over and think about.
JazakAllah khair in advance for all your contribution.
Does such knowledge bear any benefits in the life hereafter? If yes, how?
Should we not work in improving our aa’maaL so that we win on the resurrection day (as described in Surah Taghabun) rather than worrying about in what age we will be resurrected in?
As such, there is no mention of age on the day of resurrection as per my knowledge - the only details I recall from ahaadeeth is that everyone will be resurrected naked, men uncircumcized…
The age of people who will enter in Jannah are, however, mentioned in ahaadeeth… If I remember correctly, age of a man who will enter Jannah will be 32/33 and a woman will be 18…
amazingly novel thread topic, teggy. so completely fine and perceptive.
i wonder what is the state of resurrections, just the soul, or the dead body becoming alive and then soul put back into it?
Dushi jee, please view the link that I have posted above. It is mentioned that the lower part of our back bone will be showered with water from Earth and our new perfect body will grow out of that bone. So we will be physically present. Although the sun will come down very close to us, our bodies will be able to withstand the heat and not burn because of the intense heat.
A day or two ago, there was a program on I think QTV on the same exact subject where Ghamdi also had to say something … I think he just said that people will be entered as young in Jannah…
Did he say anything about the age of resurrection… not that it matters but ahaadeeth tell us that people will come out of their graves… There are narrations that tell us that Prophet:saw2: will come out with Abu Bakr on his right side and Umar bin al Khatab on his left side… which also means that they will come out as an adult…
In any case, I will still say that such knowledge bears no fruit… The important thing is to making sure that we work to enter into Jannah… and that’s that…
May Allah:subhanahu: guide us all and make us a true believer and enter us into Jannah with HIS Rehma.. Aameen.
AQ: I agree. Such curiousity holds no real value, but just thought i'd ask because we have questions and Islam has answers. :)
exactly and when your kids ask you questions about Islam ...which they will...or non-believer ask you questions about Islam out of genuine curiousity then we need to be ready to answer those questions. Simply telling them that "knowledge bears no fruit" will not be a good enough answer for the curious mind of a child or a non-believer perhaps looking to convert.
We can always share our knowledge as I did here but at the same time, always remind people that in Islamic teachings such knowledge does not bear any fruit and Islam recommends on doing good deeds rather. This is a perfect oppertunity of dawah by stating it in this way. I find it very logical. Prophet:saw2: forbade not to go for knowledge that bears no fruit. What’s wrong with saying it?
There is nothing wrong with saying that certain knowledge would not achieve any benefit, (i.e. asking if life exists in space and if islam has a say on it.) However, there isn't any harm in discussing it for general knowledge, but I can understand where you're coming from AQ. Sometimes these issues are stretched beyond belief and usually, in most cases, turn out to be harmful to our imaan. There have been cases as such.
Tailbones are useful for us to stand upright and defecate,
In embryo development the tailbone is a crucial part of the features in the first trimester that develop first and dwarf other features on the little body.
The bones of the tail are the most densely packed in adulthood.
First of all i'd like to thank everyone for their responses. Secondly, after a bit of digging up i too found out that while the earth shall consume the body after burial, the spinal cord and specifically the end bone will remain, and it will be from therein that the body would take shape again on Resurrection.
Now, i fully understand that. It's well. But.......do the bones become ashes for the people who are cremated? If so, how does that work? Because some people prefer to bury the ashes, others like to spread them in the ocean/sea/lake, etc. They will surely be gathered, no doubt about that. But just how? A curiosity if you will...
Again, there may not be a conclusive response to this, because Allah (swt) knows all. Just thought i'd put it out there again for everyone to ponder as i've been pondering for the past few days, and see if we can discuss that possibly get some insight on how that might work.
