As a moderator, I must say I am getting just as annoyed with all the sex talk … more annoyed with the bachay though who take over these threads.

As Ashtray said, there is more to marriage than just sex. There is more to a happy life than just sex. I wish some of you realised that.

Locking down Life 1 will make no difference at all. The thoughts will still be there and pop up with other threads.

What we need is maturity rather than constant flooding and childish remarks.

I would appreciate getting that from everybody, including our young posters.

It's a general comment Afridi aimed at pretty much everybody who engages in childish behaviour, from making personal remarks to constant flooding. There are young'uns posting and reading these sites and we need to keep it civilized and mature. Mature meaning civilized discussion rather than flooding about off topic remarks. Again, a general comment. Don't take everything so personally. :)

I understand discussing sex is a taboo for desis, but y'all shouldn't be going buck wild when you see a thread on sex which is basically what happens. It's a shame because what could be a mature and civilized discussion ends up getting the boot.

It’s a good idea DP, but one potential issue I see with that is that if someone isn’t liked by a group of guppies, their thread may automatically get a negative rating based on who they are rather than their actual topic of discussion.

/\ But there might be a reason for that. If a whole group dislikes one person, he or she must have opened a wrong kinda thread in the past no? So everybody will have to choose his or her words carefully in order to keep a topic open.

I think the problem can occur if a group doesn't like a person's way of thinking. Not necessarily their language but their point of view.

I agree with Mehnaz....people here have a tendency to gang up on a certain person who thinks different from them....and hence their views will never get heard.
