The Spider

The whole Quran is great. the 29th Surah of Quran has great message.
Can we discuss a few ayets to gain insight into their meaning?

Almighty’s power

20. Say: "Travel through the earth and see how Allah did originate creation; so will Allah produce a later creation: for Allah has power over all things.
21. "He punishes whom He pleases, and He grants Mercy to whom He pleases, and towards Him are ye turned. 22. “Not on earth nor in heaven will ye be able (fleeing) to frustrate (His Plan), nor have ye, besides Allah, any protector or helper.”

& of course the prayer one:

45. Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to thee, and establish regular prayer: for prayer restrains from shameful and evil deeds; and remembrance of Allah is the greatest (thing in life) without doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that ye do.

life after death is better fear

55. On the Day that the Punishment shall cover them from above them and from below them, and (a Voice) shall say: “Taste ye (the fruits) of your deeds!”

57. Every soul shall have a taste of death: in the end to Us shall ye be brought back.
58. But those who believe and work deeds of righteousness - to them shall We give a Home in Heaven,- lofty mansions beneath which flow rivers,- to dwell therein for aye;- an excellent reward for those who do (good)!-

trust and hope in faith
59. Those who persevere in patience, and put their trust, in their Lord and Cherisher.
&
64. What is the life of this world but amusement and play? But verily the Home in the Hereafter,- that is life indeed, if they but knew.

thanks, dushwari

qualities of Quran’s as a text are so many that we cannot fully get a grasp of all, until and unless we lose our selves it in.
just a few examples

logic of the numbers used in Quran
names of specific plants, fruits, and the animals
stories of nations and groups who were destroyed by the Maker and invoked Maker’s anger
prophesies made for the future eras
raising from the ground of the dead
end of time details
rewards in the after life
warnings of the worldly life
rights and obligations of people to be pious and righteous
Almighty’s power and the creation of universe
angels and jins
science of the universe and life forms - seas, mountains, ground and its fertility
peace and jihad
prophets and their times - how they spread Allah’s message
rules regarding dealind with injustice
inheritance from generations
women men relationships - love and mercy in the hearts for each other and regulations of engaging and disengaging in relationships
good tidings for the patient

we should be thankful that our holy book is so instructive. we need to think about it and ponder on it always.

Re: The Spider

Can someone elaborate on the meaning of Ayat:20 above?

At the moment, it appears to me as invitation by the Almighty to explore how He created life!

witch dr.
i humbly feel that Almighty is very creative. of course we cannot discern everything about Almighty unless we are that much close to what will take a person closer to Almighty..
i always feel that Quran is a letter of Allah to us, as believing Muslims and Musalimahs.
there is not any doubt about the Maker's ability to give life and take life, just like that.
to me, it sounds to be an affirmation of hope by Allah that a replacement of the earlier created life is certain since Allah is able to say: "be!" & it becomes.
when we read in Quran All praise to Allah, Allah is merciful and compassionate, Allah is forgiving, Allah is Almighty and all other attributes of Allah, we clearly are being told about the omnipotence of Allah - Allah's all-powerfulness.
Allah is The Exalted as well, in name and in deed. Allah's actions are self evident.
Like all creation is.
Allah is reliable though, sooner or later, because that time that Allah takes to make room for new birth of life forms, is a way to improve the previous condition of that life form.
sometimes, we see plants growing in really barren places.
it is all interconnected. the uncertainty and the certainty of life.
in this sense, in my view, the ayet is referring to the hope of re creativity by Almighty.
When someone loses someone, that person cannot be replaced.
When a couple loses a new born baby, that is gruesome, yet, somehow there is this creative way of the Maker to little by little, fill in the void with more love between the two of them, and then they can pray and try to have another baby.
they can wish and pray and try all they want, and if Allah is kind to them, Allah does re create new life in the shape of a baby for them.
so much can be said that is why Quran is really powerful source of inspiration, a life line.
so there is hope and there is practicality in it, since giving up or letting go, with immense fear, disheartened ness, neglect, helplessness, disappointment or sadness leaves the affected life, damaged, yet alive.
it is but Allah's ability to re generate new life, stronger life, from within that weaker condition.
and that is a miracle. inquiry and logic or scientific knowledge behind such creativity can teach us a lot to learn about the mechanisms. yet, sometimes, Almighty's creative spirit is astonishingly miraculous and immaculate. we are asked to travel the world, to see earth from many different angles, to note all the life forms on it and their conditions, and how they grow or die, and new life comes along over time.
it is Almighty speaking of replenishing life by itself, as long as it is in the scheme of things.
i feel that is what is stated in that ayet.
and it has much to teach, in deed.
