Why does the sound come from the cpu? I didn;t even know CPUs had speakers. The monitor has speakers too but they r mute. The sound just sounds weird coming from under the table. a little echoey.
Pleeezh help.

Re: The Speakers on My PC
Check the sounds settings. Control panel. There is drop down as to which speakers are being used. Audio tab woud be a good place to start.
Re: The Speakers on My PC
What kinda sound Femme? Is it the normal windows beeps and sounds or some kinda zooming sound?
Or is it the beep at PC startup?
Re: The Speakers on My PC
my audio files, like ganay shanay.
Re: The Speakers on My PC
FF u have few options
1) Open up the box, trace the speakers and pull out the wire (do it only if u know what u are doing)
2) Mute the PC Speaker (double click on volume in strat bar, goto options, find PC speaker and check that option)
3) Mute the main volume to see if that makes your like easier
Re: The Speakers on My PC
I don't think opening the box is a very good idea, especially since I would have no idea what I am doing.
I don;t have that speaker icon in that little tray to the lower right of the screen. whats it called? tray something? I used to have it at some point but dunno where it went. So I tried to install and it something about volume control program not having been installed. then it wants me to go to add/remove and install it but if its not like that add/remove folder has software waiting for me to add. i can delete but how do I add without a disk?
I am able to use the volume control on the keyboard to change the volume and also mute it. Other than that I can ofcourse use the volume control for whatever program is being used. where do I mute the main volume from Todd?
And right after we are done resolving this I have another little problem too. which actually I cannot even remember now cos of all I had to write above. i will be back as soon as I remember what it was. Meanwhile please see if you gurus can fix this volume problem.
Re: The Speakers on My PC
FF: It seems like the sound card installed in your CPU is equipped with a speaker. But the control for it shouldn’t be any different than the speakers you have physically. Also, all of these sound cards shouldn’t make any sound if you plug in your own physical speakers. Just like when you plug in the headphones in a Stereo the speakers stop working.
Anyway, try **Start>Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Audio Control ** to shut it up.
Anyway, don’t you guys have an IT person at your work? ![]()
Re: The Speakers on My PC
AJ all they have in the entertainment folder is the real player ![]()
and I remember the other thing. I can;t play games
I have to atleast attempt to finish the crossword at msn gamezone every day and I haven’t been able to for the past week or so. I cannot play that billaird 8 ball thingi game either. and today I couldn;t play pacman in our very own arcade. I smell a conspiracy. It says something about javascript not enabled. how do i enable it?
and I don;t get that yellow bar at the top that asks me to click here to instal activex etc etc. I used to on IE but this maxthon browser doesn’t open it up.
the IT guy is the boss’ son its better if he doesn;t know about the problems i am having with my music or internet games anyway.
Re: The Speakers on My PC
FF: Search for a file called sndvol32.exe on your C drive and run it. It’s the Audio Control Utility
Its usually found under c:\windows\system32\
Re: The Speakers on My PC
Oh and for the games, I presume you are having problems with the Internet Explorer. I am sure a few people can figure this out rather easily but I would suggest you install firefox.
It’s the old netscape browser, in case you are wondering and it’s considered to be better than IE. Even if it doesn’t work for your games, I really the tabs feature in it.
Re: The Speakers on My PC
Your english is getting better every day. I think Inzamam should get coaching from you.
By the way, if its her work computer, then it may not be a great idea to install new (unauthorized) programs. In any case, I prefer Opera to any other browser out there.
Re: The Speakers on My PC
I used to use Opera long time ago because its Linux friendly but since Firefox, I have only used it & IE.
Re: The Speakers on My PC
first of all I couldnt find that file u mentioned. second of all i already had firefox but a lot of my work sites require IE to function so I had to download maxthon cos of its compatibility with IE. I could intitially play games etc without any problem. to hell with the cound it can come from under the table or outside the office for all i care now. I wannna play my gaaammmesssss ![]()
haaen ab ye opera kya hei! does it work the same way as IE?
Re: The Speakers on My PC
FF: The file is standard exe so as long as you are running the same OS as your computer at home, you can always just find the file at your home PC, email it to yourself and then run it. As most email clients would freak out with an .exe attachment, you might wanna zip it up, which wouldn't make difference on the size but will help you through the firewalls. Or I can email you the file (I am using XP)
On the IE issue, just open it up, go to Tools and click on Internet Options. Once the options show up, click on the Advanced Tab and then click 'Restore Defaults'.
Re: The Speakers on My PC
femme, just use your CPU box as a speaker. keep it where you want to keep your speaker at. george bush’s dada once said, dont fix it unless you break it fixing.
and like anyone believes you cant play games.
thats all women do.
Re: The Speakers on My PC
utha kar bahir sutto farigh PC aur naya computer lo ab!
Re: The Speakers on My PC
naya hee tau hei tmx. Just got it a few months ago cos the old one got viruses and crap.
AJ when u go to the msn games section the games don;t open up on firefox either. unless i know even little about computers than i think I know. I am searching for the file at my home pc right now. if i find it i’ll email it to myself if not i will give u the honour of emailing it to me ![]()
Queer mind games are working fine, only if msn games were as error-free ![]()
Re: The Speakers on My PC
ok i had found it and emailed it to myself but its in some retarded pf format and the computer doesn;t know hwo to open it up and neither do i.
i hate computers, when they don;t do what i want them to do.
Re: The Speakers on My PC
for all u jaa’lee certificate walay computer mechanics, I was able to fix the game problem myself

Re: The Speakers on My PC
