The situation in Karachi

They're picking on people because they wear pants...

seriously?

Re: The situation in Karachi

^ Just like how the MQM is picking on people who look Pakhtun. Taali aik haath seh nahee bajti.

Below is an comment i found on pakistaniat.com .
posters Younger brother was killed by MOB.

can anybody imagine future of his son whose father was killed before his eyes.

I m in USA now, Today my brother 35 years old Rehan Shaikh killed, in Karachi, when he was coming from cattle mandi near sohrab goth, his 9 years old son mehndi was with him, and a pathan mob brutally killed him in front of 9 years old son, we r punjabi and do not affiliated with any party, I m trying to get flight from newyork, will not able to see face of my martyred brother. My brother has 10 year old daughter, 9 year old son, and 1 year old son. Anybody can tell me what his sin was. My father and grandfather migrated from east Punjab India, 1947, crossed river of blood to reach Pakistan. My patriotism is very shaky at this point in my life. I feel very pessimistic about future of my motherland; this is story of one innocent Pakistani, 40 innocent people killed in two days Saturday and Sunday. 9 years old mehdi is in shock, he cries and than sleep, ask s about his father, tell they killed baba. Is there any mohd Bin Qasim, who can give us justice or at least tell the truth, anybody can deliver justice to his widow. Why Zardari, Qaim Ali shah, Gillani sitting in their offices, and send their kids to safe haven, of UK, or Dubai, they incompetent people should resign, let the people like you to come in.
I have decided to say good bye to my motherland, whose foundation had been made by blood of my ancestors, I will bring my brother Rehan Ahmed Sheikh family to USA.

Say goodbye to the country of Zardari, lagari and others.

although in this post MOB happens to be pashtuns but it doesnt mean they are the only ones.
because i have seen how pathans shops were closed down, even yesterday somebody was shot on the road 10-15 earlier than i passed after returning from work later came to know reports said he was shot in the head with one bullet now it means mob even doesnt ask.

And heard Zardar yesterday he was saying this is dispute between old settlers and new settlers??
what the Heck, whats settler? and this is not a dispute between two communities as i still see in may areas of the city both communities are still roaming around freely.
this is dispute between two Mafias , old mafia and new mafia.

Re: The situation in Karachi

MQM, the genuine terrorist force of pakistan.

Re: The situation in Karachi

Things are not good in Karachi. Terrorist organizations are killing people from 2 ethnicities (urdu speaking and Pakhtoons). This all is a plot to somehow provoke a aam aadmi to get into it as happened in 1980s

My home and my in laws home are in the area considered "safe" before but now my MIL is unable to go to my home form last 3-4 days where both homes are just 3-4 miles apart.

All karey k things get better soon

yes, there is alot of tension in karachi, there is some kind of operation being carried out by the rangers i guess against trouble makers

Re: The situation in Karachi

MQM has been planning for it for sometime, they have been crying about Talibanisation all the time to spread the ethnic conflict.

and they are firing from both ends ...

Re: The situation in Karachi

^ Thats because Pakhtuns dont take crap from anyone. Be nice to them, they'll be nice to you. You point a gun at them, and they'll point a rocket launcher at you.

Sure, they should go to 90 and blow it up instead of killing every dick henry wearing "pants" same goes for MQM terrorist. They should take on ANP guys if they have any problem instead of killing poor pakhtoons selling fruit or poor buss driver.

Neither MQM terrorist neither ANP terrorist have balls to go after the guys who can take them on. Both of them are killing innocent people of opposite race

Re: The situation in Karachi

My only question is, where do these people get their weapons? MQP/ANP, obviously have their connections, but how does it end up in the regular guy's(recruit) hand?

A Second Middle East - Marc Ambinder

"Like I said, these are stateless individuals who operate throughout – I mean, I’ve got a situation in

This is not about finger poiting - the reality is MANY innocent people from different ethnicities are being killed. Both people are guilty of violence and ruthless mob behaviour. Many Pakhtuns who do the hard labour jobs in Karachi have been beaten and killed just for being Pakhtun whilst Pakhtun mobs from behind Nazimabad have caused trouble in some places too.

The police and army shoot should all trouble causers.

Analysis from Stratfor on Civil Strife.

Choosing Civil Strife Over War With India

Free Preview of Members-Only Content | Stratfor

Stratfor has learned that Islamabad privately has conveyed an official message to Washington and New Delhi that the people involved in the attack have been identified, and that the Pakistani government will take action against them. We also have learned that Pakistan’s civil-military leadership has decided that Lashkar-e-Taiba must be neutralized because it is jeopardizing Pakistani security. The Pakistanis thus are willing to make tough concessions and liquidate those responsible for the attack as long as India holds back.

There is no bravery being shown by anyone here during these riots. While MQM goons are target killing poor pakhtoons, the criminals belonging to pakhtoon community are killing innocents in mob like sitaution here as reported by one poster here.

But so far more pakhtoons have been killed in target killing so far than other party's people.

Re: The situation in Karachi

^^ I agree with you brother, the killers from the both side are at loose and only innocents are dying... These elements should be pointed out by the communities.. if they every want to live in peace...

Re: The situation in Karachi

Just sad and pathetic.

May all souls rest in peace.

This has to stop soon. No matter if army or any para-military force is needed around troubled areas at least.

Sohrab goth has been a troubled spot for three decades at least.

No need for administration to snooz on it or give statements in newspapers.

I can expect police knows the culprits and politicians from both parties need to be given 'drawing room' tour.

Re: The situation in Karachi

I wonder if they will arrest any MQM terrorists.

i had a friend telling me that Rangers did arrest a guy from an apartment block and he was not Pathan and guy was living with family.
so they are arresting and i m sure they have lists as well.

on positive side it didnt turn into community violence but between criminal gangs although ordinary people were affected by it.
