Re: The silence of Pakistan's victory
I don't think cricket arouses as much passion and fanaticism in Pakistan as it does in India.....Most of the Pakistan, not the crazy fans on this board, myself included, do not give a hoot who wins or loses.....On the other hand Indians do because Cricket is only outdoor recreation and sports they have and one which they excel at.......
Therefore, if Indians lose, it is more of a somber occasion for them then it would be if the roles were reversed.....
Re: The silence of Pakistan's victory
Yeah, i couldn't care less if you could hear a pin drop in the stadium after our win. This makes the vicotry all the more sweet because you know that you just shut all of them up and they probablly feel like killing you inside. This is a drive for many of the great athletes.
Banglore, or wherever the match took place, is obviously a passionate city when it comes to cricket and i'm fine with it. The fans there are like the fans of boston, ny, and philly. But they could have applauded us and made it seem as if they are truly happy for seeing the better team win but no, they had to be idiots and make it obvious of how much they envy us.
Re: The silence of Pakistan's victory
Eventhough the crowd in Banglore cannot be near to how good our crowd was to Indians, still, I felt that banglore crowd was much bettter than Culcutta crowd. Atleast when we won, the few people that were still in the stands boooed ganguli and applaused for Inzi and Younis.

shuker karo pathrao nahi kiya, verna hindians to iss main beray mahir hain :p
Re: The silence of Pakistan’s victory
sure they are, so if they stayed calm, it means they were aplausing
did anyone remember, when Pakistani Hockey team won final of Asian Cup in Delhi!
man, half of the Team reached pakistan wounded in badages as a result of attack on their coach when the left the stadium.
This is contrast of support they were given in Pakistan last year.
they just support indian, but I think dont support of understand Just the game “Cricket” or may be its heart!!
Re: The silence of Pakistan's victory
who cares the bottom line is that we defeated them
Re: The silence of Pakistan's victory
Well there is a lot of truth in the fact that south-indians r a very inhospitable lot and have small hearts.why they don't even recognize the north Indians, let alone pakistanis. In my opinion,INDIAN is a very blanket term and u can't really generalize a behaviour as Indian, becoz there r so many regions and people and u can't be sure about the way they r gonna behave.believe me if they behave badly it's as much an embarrasment to the rest of the people as others.also everyone recognizes the fact that they recieved great support in Punjab. My friends in India went to pakistan last year, made some friends. This year their pakistani friends came over and they showed them around, took them to hill-stations and overall there was great camaradarie and they r the best of friends now.I reckon this is because of the common cultural background, language etc.But to give credit where it's due,the chennai crowd did give pakistan team a standing ovation in 99 when they won the test by 12 runs, despite the fact that it was a heart-breaking defeat. Also let's not forget what happened on 89 tour of pakistan,Srikkanth's shirt was torn,a match in karachi was abandoned after stone-pelting by crowds when pakistan was losing etc.so it's all relative and dependent on the atmosphere prevalent at the time.I am just glad that there was no ugly incident and hope same is the case in future.Pakistan played better and deserved to win and that's the end of that.
