The 'SHE' toofaans

Re: The ‘SHE’ toofaans

I did wonder why I had this list with me… I hope it wasn’t my mom…

Re: The 'SHE' toofaans

Actually there are six sets of names (A-W) that get rotated every six years. Some of these names were picked way back in the 1950s by the National Hurricane Center. That explains the lack of diversity (MLK hadnt made his impression yet). Also, initially the list consisted of female names only, but then since the 1970s, with the advent of the semi-stupid concept of feminism, the lists now alternate between male and female. Feminazis thought it a conspiracy theory that hurricanes, associated with destruction and havoc, to be associated with female names was a way for men put women down.

Re: The ‘SHE’ toofaans

Suroor n dope, seeing the amt of wimpiness and political correctness in this modern world, there would be a lot of outrage if a hurricane was named “Tyrone” “Shaneequa” or Cezar Chavez etc… in fact i think a few yrs ago there was gonn abe a hurricane named “israel” but the jews got all bitchy about it and demanded it changed :halo:

Re: The 'SHE' toofaans

I thought they were named by/or after the person who first tracks the storm.

:hehe: @ sara.

Re: The 'SHE' toofaans

Although the name may be gender discriminated or racially biased (as suggested by humans) but the effects are not, it (Mother Nature) affects without prejudice
