The sexualization fo cartoon characters

sepcially the ones meant for young children is annoying. Really annoying. What does it matter if all parts of their anatomy are highlighted or not. WE need cartoons like good ol’e Tom n Jerry not the other way around.

Re: The sexualization fo cartoon characters

This is nothing new. Consider Betty Boop. And Pepe Le Pew.

Re: The sexualization fo cartoon characters

SmileStar: So you people have started talking like your dadiammas. For everyone, their own time is/was the best. Things change. Kids these days like to watch something different. It is not better or worse; just different.

I, myself, get totally blown away with the kind of realistic animation we see on the screen these days. I do miss my Pink Panther days, though.

Re: The sexualization fo cartoon characters

astro boy! from the jetsons, right?

Re: The sexualization fo cartoon characters

There are great cartoons on now too (though I long for Jem, Thundercats, and Voltron).

Also remember, just because we perceive cartoons to be directed toward a child audience, doesn't mean they are. Originally Bugs Bunny etc were meant for adults. As are many of the cartoons today.

Re: The sexualization fo cartoon characters

Everything has been sexualized these days, i subscribe to journal of transplantation and on the back of it is an ad of a medicine for transplant and it has pic of a naked woman with her breast and half of her butt exposed.

Re: The sexualization fo cartoon characters

Yes I agree witchdr, the animation is good but I am talking about a young market here, one that can be influenced very easily.
