The Sabyasachi Bride!

Here is what Sabyasachi’s view of a south asian bride but I really don’t think that it is valid for a Sabyasachi Bride considering the ho ha created by the flower power lehnga that Maheen Ghani chose to wear at her wedding recently.

What about you? Do you agree with the quote?

Re: The Sabyasachi Bride!

less is more...... lol

Re: The Sabyasachi Bride!

to an extent yeah...to be honest Sabyasachi excludes itself from the list of designers who focus more on lehngas with heavy, blinding your eye, OTT embroidery, which is typically majority of indian lehnga's, hence the quote 'less is more' defo does seems to fit here

I agree...even a "light" Indian bridal is going to be over the top by Pakistani standards.

Re: The Sabyasachi Bride!

i agree with the written statement, however that particular outfit itself is not really bridal for me.

Re: The Sabyasachi Bride!

Most brides are confident of their choices and understanding the value of less is more and appreciate traditioanl.

They just have eyes.

Re: The Sabyasachi Bride!

^ lol!

but we've all seen brides that don't get it too ;)

Re: The Sabyasachi Bride!

Maybe I just didn't get it. :(

Re: The Sabyasachi Bride!

Have any **Sabyasachi **outfit in mind that you think is ideal for a bride?

Re: The Sabyasachi Bride!

I agree with less is more, but not in these circumstances.
Its your wedding...go over the top!

Re: The Sabyasachi Bride!

Ms. Padukone wore a *Sabyasachi *sari at a special screening for Aarakshan.

Re: The Sabyasachi Bride!

Tamil/Malayalam movie star Prithviraj tied the knot with BBC journalist Supriya Menon and the couple wore *Sabyasachi *outfits for the reception (both of them).

Re: The Sabyasachi Bride!

This bride on Maharani Weddings is wearing a Sabyasachi lengha and you can tell it’s his style from the fabrics and colours, but the embroidery and stuff are suitable for a bride more than his runway stuff, I think:

I think most designers do an “artistic line” for showcasing on runways and starlets and a more commercial line for selling to the public.

Re: The Sabyasachi Bride!

It’s not bridal at all.Black should be done so that it looks gorgeous and not funeralish. and that is bordering on bleh vamp/goth .Not to my liking at all. :snooty:
