Well, I slept through the whole thing. Literally. Then again I am in a different time zone. I know a radio station here was supposed have some coverage at about 5 AM local time, but at that time, I just got up for Fajr, prayed and went back to sleep shortly after.
I don’t think anyone here said they would avoid getting any glimpse of it at anytime. At least for me I simply meant that I will not be going out of my way to watch it.
