the royal wedding lengha?

Re: the royal wedding lengha?

Agree with what people have mentioned...she obviously wasnt going for a Pakistani look, she wasnt dressing according to desi style or to please millions of Pakistani women....British/western style and tradition is very different from Pakistani. So it doesnt make sense to compare the two. You might not wear what she wore, but she would probably never in a million years even consider wearing what any of us wore at our wedding. And it doesnt mean that our version of beauty, tradition, grace and elegance is better than hers, its just a totally different perspective. Imagine if the Queen was Pakistani! She would have come to the wedding in her biggest crown, totally decked out! I think that Kate achieved a modern, yet traditional look and even though her dress wasnt something to make people's jaws drop wide open, she looked very lovely and pulled off a timeless look of beauty and elegance
And even though Pakistani fashion is obviously very different, I do think we will be seeing versions our designers incorporate aspects of this dress...particularly the neck and sleeves..as well as the lace -which we have already been seeing this season and is lovely

Re: the royal wedding lengha?

I don't know...these dresses just aren't made for desi women with big bust and all unless the cup size is A.

embellished net has been in use since a very long time in Malaysia and Indonesia for Kibayas usually worn on weddings. The neck won't work with all the heavy jewelery that our brides wear.

Re: the royal wedding lengha?

I think Kate Middleton looks absolutely stunning on her big day and the dress complimented her beautifully. If I was English I would almost definitely want a dress like hers. I do think however think the design was very common but considering it is a royal wedding she wasn't exactly in the position to get all funky!

Her dress can be incorporated rather well into a asian bridal dress depending on how typically asian the bride wants to look. If your after a mix you can use alot less flair than Kate's circle skirt, a slit down the front with a matching ivory banarsi material underneath and some embroidery/swarovski crystals around the netting and top half of the dress. It doesn't matter if you cant wear jewellery around your neck you can make up for it with a mathi pathi or slightly exaggerated tikka to give you an asian feel.
