The role of HR in Pakistan

I have been wondering lately that in Pakistan every other person is in HR ! its somehow become a very popular career .. however what strikes me the fact that in Pakistan the employment law is next to zero .. even if there are laws there is no implementation of it .. there is no protection what so ever for the employees …

So what exactly are the HR specialists doing in this field? is it taken more as an administrative field? purely secretarial work?

Any thoughts please?

You are right there is no employment law and HR never think for the betterment of the employees but for the betterment of the company. Most of the time the exploit employees at their level best.

Unfortunately this time I'm working in big Pakistani company who have offices in many countries but people of their HR department are just pathetic. Their Mentality level is as much low as a 3rd class factory owner.

In most of Pakistani companies HR department is just a khana puri section.. They try to copy the systems from west, but don't know how to boost motivation and morale of the employees. Evaluation processes are still close ended and in many places evaluation is being made without knowing the employees their weakness and how to overcome over it.
