Forget about what society or religion defines the roles of mothers. What do you think should be the role of a mother?
Re: The role of a mom
Well it's a bit paradoxical because what people think is the role of a mother is from what they've been taught by religion and society...
Personally I think the role of a mother is to nurture you physically, emotionally and spiritually.
I know some people think that the mother's role is also to educate their children, but I think that's variable depending on the mother's background and shouldn't be compulsory and mothers who've not been able to do that shouldn't be looked down upon...
Re: The role of a mom
True about the influence of religion and society, but we may have changed our perceptions...or rather modified them with time.
What you said about nurturing physically, emotionally and spiritually is beautiful. I totally agree. But does that man, that's specifically a mom's role?
Re: The role of a mom
To be there for her kids

TO TEACH- about religion , society , manners , ethics etc etc.
TO PROTECT - physically and emotionally
TO PROVIDE FOR HIS/HER NEEDS - in many cases when fathers are not in child's life due to whatever reason in my view it becomes the responsibility of the mother to fulfil her child's needs bet it financial , emotional etc etc.
TO CARE & LOVE - for even the tiniest issue about her child.
Re: The role of a mom
To love you unconditionally.
