I give the movie 3.5 stars out of 5, not all that, decent music, underdeveloped characters across the board (even Aamir's character was a bit underdeveloped), good casting and sets but not in the same class is his previous movies
Actors are great, acting is great, direction, lyrics and music are amazing :k:. The problem is that the movie is too much of a character study than about revolution or rising itself. They (in my opinion) wasted too much time on the cow/pork fat thing, they could have talked about fights and revolution starting. Most of the time you knew why British are abusing Indians and lying to them, should have spent more time in showing fights and impact of Mangal Panday’s action on the revoution.
Over all I think everyone should see this movie because Aamir is just off the hook with his acting :k:
You know, as bad as the british were, there were certainly acts of terrorism and attrocity commited on the Indian side aswell... Its sad that given the state of affairs today, where the line between freedom fighter and terrorist is almost non existant, that they didnt depict that attrocities commited against British women and children at the start of the uprising..
Yeah, but still dissapointing.. For a film thats seeks global recognition, that it should simply be mouth piece for Indian sentiment and not be more relvent to stuff that going on today...
