Acha. I get it now. So only Taliban standards are reflective of Islam in your eyes. I see how that spin doctoring goes. And yes that all happens under Erdogan. Because to most of us Muslims we don’t consider the Taliban a reflection of our faith. You can believe what you want. As we can see already. Most political commentators call Erdogan an Islamist. He is a populist figure whose entire support base is based on Islamic identity. These are facts. You are welcome to believe whatever you wish.

Those who are considered “experts” say so otherwise.

Turkey for many years did not give muslims the basic rights to follow there way of life. A women could not go to office without wearing a western skirt. What is changing now is these people are being given their due rights to follow their way of life. This was a big change in Turkish society and people who were against giving these basic liberties to muslims labeled Erdogan as Islamist.

I have nothing against people who want to follow Islamic way of life in their personal capacity. In fact I am totally in favor of giving people this liberty. What I am against is when some people want to impose this way of life on people who are not willing to voluntarily adopt this way of life. Iran, Talibanic Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and many other countries are in front of view who have imposed a certain way of life on people through state by force.
