The gold may serve as financial aid, but until then you will pay a yearly zakat on it if it's more than nisab amount.

Muslims are NOT allowed to wear gold in excess of a very miniscule weight/amount . it's enough for a small wedding band. i've seen Egyptian men wearing wedding rings. it's rare in the subcontinent for men to wear the wedding ring...may be they don't want perpective girls to know about it. :D

My mum ain’t strict. Plus she knows she’s never been able to control me but I have enough respect for her and her opinions regardless so it’s kept me in line here and there.
