no, they are allowed a very small weight…[enough to buy a day’s meal]…most Egyptians i’ve met do wear a thing band of gold wedding band [may be 18 carrot, not 22/24 carrot]. even in India and Pakistan a small percentage of Muslims wear gold angooThii [wedding band]. you may want to ask an 'aalim if you so widh.
