I actually said;

Me; “hello, mum. Do we wear rings when we get married”
Mum; “Aren’t you meant to be at work”
Me; “Yes but I need an answer to this question”
Mum; “Why you asking”
Me; “Cause i’m having a debate with some people over wedding rings”
Mum; “You go to work to talk to people about wedding rings or work”
Me; “Oh my dayz”
Mum; “Yes we wear rings etc”
Me; “Okay, I thought we didn’t..”
Mum; “You dating a girl”
Me; “No”
Mum; “I’ll break your legs when I see you”
Me; “I ain’t got time for this” hangs up

Sounds like my ammi, except there is no warning about breaking legs. It will jut happen.
