Many of you must have heard about the rally last weekend in DC, started by the Daily Show’s Jon Stewart, in an attempt to give voice to the middle, to the silent majority. It’s not a political movement so much as an attempt to change the way we interact in the political arena. So discussions shouldn’t turn into arguments driven by ratings, debates shouldn’t be about vilifying and talking in extremes. What results is unproductive noise, rather than progress.
I think Life1 needs something similar. I am sick and tired of the idiotic man vs. woman, MIL vs. DIL, single vs. married vs. divorced, SAHM vs. working mom, West vs. East, hijabi vs. non, my family vs inlaws debates. Is this the only way some people know how to interact?
Of course that’s not true. Most of us out there are sane. Most of us out there understand that our relationships are not be defined in these extreme, combative terms, and yet the same comments seem to regurgitated out her again and again.
So join me LIFE1’s sane majority. And bring some moderation and intelligence back into the posts in this forum.
Also, I applaud those of you who attempt daily to talk sense here (despite the walls you hit). Any ideas how to break through those walls?

Good idea.
I feel there's a fwe handful of people who try to be the voice of reason..you included.
Jaanwar, colbert is my 10-month old daughter's favorite. I don't know what it is, but he gets huge smiles whenever she sees him on tv.
See? the intellectuals do like him better. Oh and please tell your daughter I am getting ready for my next political debate with her. AND that she won't get lucky every time.
LOL! Thank you for the link Sahar. Made my day. Jon Stewart is brilliant, but I like Colbert better. He is more of a character.
jon stewart is the true comedian though, the comedy comes out of him naturally without a script
it was the most obvious when there was a writers' strike and they had to do both shows unscripted. Jon was just as funny if not funnier during that time with no script but you could see that the script was definitely what made colbert funny
I want to point out that according to a non-confirmed global survey, general population of world thinks that pakistani men are more good looking than pakistani women.
