I always find it interesting how societies tend to come down much harder on adult men who have sex with minor girls, compared to when grow-up women have sex with under-age guys. These days a case is getting pretty famous in US, where a 24-year old school teacher is caught having an affair with a 14-year old student. No its not May Kay Letourneau case, but a new one in Miami and the woman’s name is Debra Lafave. The woman is quite attractive actually, and a former model - and now in the middle of a divorce
Many talk shows that covered the story were more amused than anything saying the 14-year old must be the star in his school for having sex with such a “hot” teacher. Now contrast that to a situation where a guy teacher was caught having sex with a student girl, and universally everyone would call him a sexual predator with no mention how the girl may have been perceived amongst her peers for “bagging” such a hot catch (assuming the guy is a hot catch).
If it was a male teacher, his entire life would have been plastered all over the media, and picked and interpreted in an extremely negative way. “Oh.. one time when he was a kid, he said a bad word to a girl. This clearly shows that he is a rapist”.
Oh and the case would even be over by now, no need to for evidence. Just bring the girl out crying, jury gives verdict and judge senteces him to 50 years in prison.
If a guy is accused of having sex with a minor girl, people start making a huge deal compare to if it was a female. I bet most of us werent even aware of it. If a guy had done that, it will be front page news and constant battering on his personaltiy.
Disgusting. Reminds me of two of my supervisors. The lady supervisor was probably 27 or 28 and she has two babies from a 14 year old kid. She had her second one with in less than a year.
And one of the male supervisors was 23 I think and he married a lady around 40 or something whose older child was 19. It's just sick.
This is not the first such case.In fact I know of about three others that took place- one of them - the couple are now married and they have a 2 year old baby.Its a shame really.

Whats wrong with that? So the 23 year old guy fell in love with 40 yr old lady. Good for them. Both are adults. Why is it sick? Love is blind, don't you know. :D
What a lovely teacher. Teaching is not confined to just classrooms, it encompasses a lot more. I am quite certain that this teacher helped many more 14 year old with their homework.

I don't know if any of you are watching the drama serial "Desperate Houswives". In which one of the sub-plots is a married lady (who is quite a hottie) having an affair with her gardner who is still in high school. The affair started when the guy was 16. When the mother of the boy finds out, she is visibly upset, and there is a possibility that she will inform the cops.
Now legally, ofcourse, the age for sexual consent is 18, for both boys and girls... but do you really think a fairly mature 17 year old guy having an affair with a gorgeous 25 year old woman is as bad as a 25 year old guy having an affair with a 16 year old girl? I don't see a lot of people upset about the 'under age affair' shown on national television, probably because this is a woman-and-a-boy and not guy-and-a-girl. Some may even consider the boy to be "lucky" to have "scored" such a hot catch. Double standards, anyone?
I watch Desperate Housewives. I don't think there's an uproar cause they are ultimately showing that what Gabrielle is doing is wrong. I would like to see her charged in the show cause the (hottie) boy's mother made it clear that she was going to get her revenge.
It is a double-standard. R. Kelly has been put through hell in the media for having consensual relations with an underage girl. Then again, a lot of people were still on his side cause it wasn't rape and he still managed to produce hits after the scandal broke.
