What is a Punjabi Pathan? Is it having one Pathan parent and one Punjabi parent? Do Punjabi Pathans speak Pashto, Punjabi or both? I have never heard anyone refer to themselves as a Punjabi Pathan (and I am married into a Pathan family)- even those of hubby’s family who live in Islamabad, Lahore etc (basically outside of KPK) only consider themselves Pathan.
StrangeOne- what do you mean by, you don’t marry out of the family (or families with similar backgrounds)? If you are a Punjabi Pathan (and if this does, in fact, mean having one Punjabi parent and one Pathan parent), then do you only marry your cousins or you only marry people who also have one Pathan parent and one Punjabi parent? Or perhaps I have it wrong, and a Punjabi Pathan is a true Pashtun who is 100% pakthun in their ways but just happens to live in Punjab?
