Having a preference for someone with a skin tone lighter than self doesn’t equal looking down on people your color. Though it could be called stupid if the person with the preference isn’t that attractive and that’s regardless of that person’s skin color.

I was talking about those guys I have come across who prefer fair skinned girls, being brown skinned themselves, just because they don’t like dark skin toned “girls”. I have seen this guy saying “yeh tu kaali he” to some girl & I was in my heart like dude look at yourself, you prince charming!

I am not saying its cringeworthy when dark skinned guys prefer light skinned girls or vice versa, its just some guys who pass such discriminating & hateful remarks without looking at themselves.
