Re: The Punjab we don't know!
Normally, we are more aware of some Mughal architecture in central Punjab and sufi shrines in southern Punjab, when we think about Punjab. Started reading a book 'Nai Manzilen Talash kar - Safrnama e Punjab' by Muhammad Dawood Tahir and the preface mentions so many places that are hidden and not promoted properly. This thread is about such places / people of Punjab.
Pakistan as a whole is not known to propagate and market its strengths, in the world India is considered to be the birth place of Buddhism as we haven't marketed gandhara civilisation and taxila/swat etc

Though Mughals made Lahore their capital, but Multan was also prosperous province of Mughal empire. Princes used to be appointed as Governor of Multan. But do we know about Mughal architecture in Multan or nearby areas? I'm afraid not. So many tv channels are there in Pakistan. Not a single channel is dedicated to tourism or history. If there is any, it will be commercial failure, as we as a nation don't cherish our history especially pre-Muslim era.

Even the Mughal infrastructure we see and read about is that in Lahore, what exists in other areas of Punjab? For example What's the history of Sialkot after all it has remained capital of Punjab about 2000 years ago? Lahore's prominence is fairly new in the historical perspective of Pakistan.
